Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

Beauty Wonder is a beauty-product resale marketplace founded in 2015 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It connects everyday users, small groups, and growing businesses so people can buy and sell beauty items - limited-edition releases, discounted finds, or items from your own collection - in one community-driven marketplace, similar to how beauty resale grew out of small Facebook and Instagram groups over the years.
Go to the registration page and provide your full name, a login (display) name up to 13 characters, a password, your city, state, and country, an email address, and a phone number. City/state/country are used later for shipping estimates on items you list, and your email and phone are used for order and message notifications.
If you plan to sell items, make sure the email you register with is the same one associated with your PayPal account - that's the account Beauty Wonder pays you through when your items sell. You can update your email address at any time from your profile if it changes.
Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page and enter your account email. You'll receive a verification email with a secure link; clicking it takes you to a page where you can set a new password. The link is single-use and tied to a verification token, so it only works once.
Yes. Beauty Wonder supports guest refund requests - if you have your order number, you can go to the guest refund page, enter it, and submit a refund request without logging in. This is meant for buyers who checked out without creating a full account.

Buying

Browse listings, add the item(s) you want to your cart, and check out. Payment is processed securely through PayPal, which protects both the buyer and the seller during the transaction.
Yes. The Messages page lets you send and receive messages tied to specific users, so you can ask a seller questions about an item's condition, size, or shipping before committing to buy. Unread messages show a badge count in the left navigation menu.
Yes. Use the Favorites feature to bookmark items you're interested in so you can find them again later instead of searching from scratch - accessible from the left-hand menu.
Yes. After an order is completed, you can rate and review the seller. Ratings accumulate into the seller's overall rating, which future buyers can see on that seller's listings or profile - this is part of how the marketplace builds trust between strangers buying and selling used beauty items.
Yes. If you buy several items from the same seller in a single checkout, PayPal only charges one transaction fee for that whole order rather than a separate fee per item - so it's more fee-efficient (for the seller, who pays the fee) to combine purchases into one checkout when possible.

Selling

Yes - Beauty Wonder does not charge listing fees, subscription fees, or any other fee just to post an item for sale. However, when an item actually sells, Beauty Wonder does charge a service fee (a percentage of the sale) to help keep the platform running, on top of PayPal's own transaction fee. That percentage is disclosed on the About page, and it may occasionally be turned off entirely, in which case sellers keep 100% of the sale minus only PayPal's fee.
From the "Sell" link, open the "Sell your item for free" form and fill in a title, description, price, category, subcategory, and brand, then upload photos of the item. You'll also enter the item's weight and dimensions, which are used to generate a shipping cost estimate before your listing goes live.
Once you've entered the item details, weight, and dimensions, you can request a shipping estimate. Beauty Wonder quotes an estimated shipping cost and carrier/service based on those dimensions. You must review and confirm ("I have seen and accept this estimated shipping cost") before the post is published - until you confirm, the listing is saved as a draft and won't be visible to buyers.
The My Sales page lists everything you've sold, along with a shipping status timeline (Ordered -> Label Created -> In Transit -> Delivered) so you can see exactly where each order stands, plus a link to download the shipping label for orders that need one.

Fees & Payments

PayPal's current standard transaction fee is 4.99% + $0.49 per transaction. For example, on a $10 sale, PayPal's fee works out to about $0.99 (4.99% of $10 is $0.50, plus the $0.49 fixed fee). This fee is paid by the seller only, never the buyer, and Beauty Wonder does not collect any part of it - it goes entirely to PayPal as the payment processor. PayPal sets and can change this fee at any time, so the rate shown here always reflects PayPal's current published fee.
Separately from PayPal's cut, Beauty Wonder charges its own service fee - a percentage of the completed sale amount - which is how the platform itself is funded. This percentage is set by the platform and may change over time; it's calculated as a straightforward percentage of the sale total and is capped so it can never exceed the sale amount (a seller's payout can't go negative because of it).
Once an order is confirmed and marked delivered, Beauty Wonder sends a payout to your PayPal account for the sale amount minus Beauty Wonder's service fee, minus the shipping cost, minus any applicable PayPal processing/payout fee. You don't need to do anything to receive it.

Orders & Refunds

Buyers use the My Orders page to see their purchase history and current shipping status for each order. Sellers use the corresponding My Sales page to see items they've sold, along with shipping progress and any actions they need to take (like creating a shipping label).
A buyer can request a refund for an order either from their My Orders page (if logged in) or through the guest refund page using just their order number (if not logged in). The request is reviewed and the refund is processed through PayPal. Once processed, the buyer receives an email confirming the refunded amount, and if the seller's payout needs to be adjusted as a result (a "clawback"), the seller is notified by email as well.

Trust, Safety & Support

Yes. All payments and payouts are handled directly by PayPal - Beauty Wonder never sees or stores your card or bank account details. This also means PayPal's own buyer/seller protection policies apply to transactions made through the marketplace.
Beauty Wonder tracks rule violations per account as "strikes." If your account accumulates strikes, you'll see a warning notice the next time you log in, and repeated or serious violations can result in restricted access to selling or buying features.

The Privacy Policy page details what personal information Beauty Wonder collects (such as name, email, mailing address, and phone number), how it's used (running the site, customer service, order communication), and clarifies that payment processing is handled by PayPal as a separate third party with its own privacy practices.
